Product Description

CMC is used in the mining industry as a flotation inhibitor and as an organic binder in iron ore pelletizing.

Mineral Pelletizing

CMC serves as a crucial component of binders utilized in shaping mineral powders. It plays an indispensable role in both binder formulation and pellet production processes. CMC effectively enhances the characteristics of wet, dry, and calcined pellets. Pellets manufactured with CMC showcase outstanding impact performance, high compressive strength, and resistance to breakage, owing to its excellent binding properties and pellet formation capabilities. Furthermore, CMC has the capacity to improve pellet grade, thereby elevating overall product quality. Additionally, it offers the following benefits:

⦁ Good pellet formation and water control properties.

⦁ Facilitating the transition of pellets from hydrophilic to hydrophobic.

⦁ Ensuring good dispersibility and high strength of wet pellets.

⦁ Preventing pellet degradation during handling and storage.

⦁ Increasing dry pellet compression strength.

⦁ Exhibiting high cracking temperature, enhancing pellet durability.

⦁ Ensuring homogeneous distribution of pellet size.

⦁ Providing a smooth pellet surface for optimal handling and processing.

⦁ Promoting good metallurgical performance in the final product.

Mine Flotation

CMC is a cellulose polymer specially designed to effectively suppress waste gangue (gangue) minerals such as stone-soil and worthless tailings during the flotation process along with mineral ore.

The advantages of using CMC in this context include:

It transforms hydrophobic mud minerals into hydrophilic ones.

CMC aids in the extraction of target elements while suppressing the volume of waste containing unwanted minerals.

Vein minerals typically present in ore compositions, such as talc, graphite, serpentine, chlorite, anhydrite, and other carbonate compounds, often exhibit hydrophobic properties.

CMC forms a polymer film that changes the properties on their surfaces and makes them more hydrophilic. This enables the release of desired metals to the surface.

CMC enhances wetting, facilitating the flotation process.

CMC is manufactured using a proven technique of customized ionic distribution, enhancing its solubility in water and promoting greater wetting at lower dosages.

It enhances the selectivity of the flotation process by making the surfaces of mud minerals hydrophilic and by extracting them. As a result, the required elements are obtained from the ore at the desired target concentrations.

It prevents the adsorption of cationic collectors.

Potassium ores generally contain some unwanted clay mud. CMC is selectively adsorbed on the surface of clay minerals and blocks the adsorption of cationic collectors on these minerals. This allows reducing the dosage.

CMC can be manufactured with a wide range of specifications, including varying viscosity levels and degrees of substitution (DS), ranging from low to high.
